Frequently Asked Questions: Portrait Sessions

Mini Sessions are short, seasonal portrait sessions offered on select dates throughout the year. They are ideal for children, families (up to 4 members), seniors, pets, and seasonal or themed setups. Sessions vary but are typically 25 minutes and take place at select locations or curated seasonal sets. While each session offereing is different, Mini Sessions may include 10–15 edited images of your choice delivered through an online gallery.  Availability is limited and sessions often book quickly and dates are released throughout the year announced via the website, social media, and email list.

The Signature Session is a flexible, full portrait experience designed with more time, variety, and creative direction. Ideal for families, children, seniors, pets, and personal portraits, these sessions allow for a relaxed pace, multiple groupings, and a larger final gallery. Signature Sessions include up to 1 hour at one selected location, with 45 edited images delivered through an online gallery. 

The Senior Experience is a fully customized session with up to 2 hours of coverage, multiple outfit changes, and creative direction throughout. This session includes multiple settings and a fully delivered edited gallery of 100+ images, along with pre-session planning and posing guidance.

Sessions are designed to be simple and guided from start to finish. Guidance is provided for posing, planning, and styling depending on your selected session type. Turnaround times and additional details are provided at booking. 

Mini Sessions are paid in full at booking. Signature Sessions require a 50% non-refundable retainer to reserve your date, with the remaining balance due before your session. The Senior Experience requires a non-refundable retainer with the remaining balance due prior to your session. All payments secure your selected date and are applied toward your session total. Session retainers may be paid by credit card or Venmo. Remaining balances may be completed by credit card, Venmo, Zelle, or cash. 

Travel fees may apply for locations outside of Chandler. Location entrance or parking fees are not included in session pricing.

Mini Sessions are scheduled on specific dates and are non-refundable due to their limited availability. If weather or conditions require a reschedule, an alternative date will be offered within a reasonable timeframe. Signature Sessions require at least 48 hours’ notice to reschedule. Reschedules made within 48 hours of the session may include a rescheduling fee. The Senior Experience requires at least 48 hours’ notice to reschedule. Late changes or no-shows may result in a forfeited retainer or rescheduling fee, depending on availability.

All retainers are non-refundable and reserve your selected date and time.

Mini Sessions:
Proof galleries are delivered within 48 hours (up to 72 hours during holiday season). Final edited selections are delivered within 3 days after image selection.

Signature Portrait Sessions:
Proof galleries are delivered within 1 week. Final edited selections are delivered within 1 additional week after image selection.

Senior / Full Experience Sessions:
Final galleries are typically delivered within 2 weeks.

A proof gallery is a lightly edited preview gallery used for selecting your favorite images from the session. Once selections are made, your chosen images are fully edited and delivered as your final gallery. Final edits include detailed retouching, color correction, and finishing adjustments consistent with the Araya Photography style.

I do not offer standard discounts or reduced pricing for sessions. My pricing reflects the time, experience, and editing involved in each session.
